Tell us about your photography style. We specialise in a documentary style approach; capturing your wedding day as it unfolds naturally. We aim to create images that are genuine and not contrived. For us it’s about using the available light to capture all those details and special moments throughout the day.
What excites you most about wedding photography? The most exciting thing about wedding photography is photographing a couple who trust in your vision. Wedding days are highly emotional; from laughter, tears and pure joy. It's really a beautiful privilege to be able to capture all of this and be apart of it too. We really adore capturing the openness of a couple's love and making an emotional connection with them.
Why are engagement shoots something to consider? We highly recommend an engagement shoot. They are a fantastic opportunity to practice for the big day and will definitely make you feel more relaxed in front of the camera. From a photographer's prospective, it's a fine opportunity to see how a couple interacts. We are able to offer up guidance in order to get the best results. It allows for time to build a rapport with your photographer, so no one feels like a stranger on the wedding morning. Plus you will end up with loads of nice professional pictures - who wouldn't love that.
What is your favourite moment to shoot? There are so many moments throughout a wedding day that we love. A particular favourite is when couples get a fit of the giggles, especially during the ceremony or speeches. These moments makes great candid photographs and reflect the excitement and fun between the couple. We also love photographing those big confetti moments.
What's the best advice you could give a camera shy couple? Take the time to choose the right photographer for you. Meet them over coffee to ensure that you and your partner feel comfortable and relaxed in their presence. Your photographer will be around for a big part of your wedding day, so it’s important that it’s a great fit all round. Trust your photographer and be open to their ideas, they have a creative eye and will ensure that you get the most out of your portrait session.
Where are your favourite Irish wedding locations? For such a small country there are so many stunning venues both North and South. A few of our favourites are, Gracehall, The Carriage Rooms at Montalto Estate, Tullyveery House, Limepark, Drenagh House, Castle Leslie and The Millhouse Slane.
