A Flowers by Mee Real Wedding
Full of grandeur and charm, that not even the rain could spoil this romantic day. Each detail was so intimate and personal, that its hard not to fall head over heels with this stunning real wedding. Plus its not every day a bride and groom share the same name, meet: Allie and Ali.
The Bridal Look…I never thought I would go for a big dress but as soon as I tried it on, I felt like a bride. It was a classic strapless mikado gown and it had pockets! My veil was simple and lovely to wear. I'm definitely a shoe girl and found shoe shopping almost more exciting than dress shopping. I went for the iconic blue Manolo Blahniks.
The Wedding Vibe….We wanted a traditional but still a very fun wedding. Our amazing florist created the autumnal look we were after, with a beautiful floral arch and lined the aisle with foliage and silver pumpkins. The bouquets were everything. We wanted to showcase our talented family, so my mum made our delicious cake, my auntie was not only busy making her famous tray-bakes but also played during our ceremony, and our lovely sister in law played the harp.
Highlight of the Day?….It was very special to us that we got married in the same church that my parents did over 30 years ago. Our favourite moment of the day was our first dance, we chose an upbeat song; Paradise by George Ezra. Therefore avoided the awkward shuffle and got everyone onto the dance floor for the rest of the night.
Advice for couples….. Do not worry about the weather. We had a rainy wedding day and upon reflection it occurred to me that I hadn't encountered many rainy wedding pictures on blogs/instagram/or in magazines. I think our photographer did a great job of capturing the day despite the conditions. So its nice to showcase a rainy wedding and let others know that worrying about the weather isn't worth it.
