Destination Wedding: Portugal

Romantic and understated, this vineyard wedding is a breath of fresh air. The bride looks absolutely radiant in her Daughters of Simone gown and the beautiful setting couldn’t be more perfect.

The Venue Our venue, the Quinta de Sant'Ana, is a working vineyard in the Mafra countryside, 20 miles from Lisbon. We searched the internet for rustic destination venues and came across it and fell in love with it straight away.

Bridal Fashion I’ve always loved the 70s vibe, so when I came across Daughters of Simone at Achieve 12 I knew straight away that was the look I wanted. Simple, bohemian, with the added touch of a floral crown and yellow platforms for fun factor.

The Wedding Vibe As a couple we are very chilled and relaxed so we wanted to reflect that in our wedding. We were conscious that friends and family were on holidays so we wanted to make it as stress free, fun and enjoyable as possible for them. We loved the pre-dinner reception. Having that quality time with family and friends who had went to such effort and expense, watching them have such a good time. A local jazz band, who pride themselves on audience participation, involved everyone and they really added to the fun factor. It was everything we hoped for and more. We only wish we could do it all over again!

Advice for future brides and grooms Try not to stress too much about the little details as it always works out in the end. More importantly, be sure to enjoy every minute because it really does go so quick.
