A Real Wedding By Mark Barton Photography
Full of grandeur and charm, Stephen and Susanne’s wedding made for the most romantic day. Each detail was intimate and personal, a perfect blend of laid back vibes and high class celebration.
The Wedding Ceremony … Everything ran to schedule with plenty of time to spare before the wedding service was due to begin. Rev McDermott has been my minister for 20 years and even though he had retired the previous year we were thrilled when he said he would come back to marry us, which made it much more personal. It was a really relaxed service, lots of laughs and fitted our personalities so well.
The Vendors …. The best part was working with our wedding vendors. Their personalities were very similar to ours. It was so important to us to have people we could trust, get along with and have a laugh too. We did our research and met with most of them before we booked. I would definitely recommend other brides and grooms to do the same.
The Food …. Our wedding meal was potato and leek soup for starter, turkey and ham for main course followed by sticky toffee pudding for dessert, one of our favourites. Then, of course, there was our wedding cake which was designed and made by one of our friends - it looked and tasted beautiful.
Highlight of the day …. Stephen arranged a surprise bagpiper to play outside as they walked out of the church. I had joked with Stephen about wearing a kilt to the wedding, which he was having none of. But low and behold, we had a man in a kilt anyway!
